Monster marine reptile skull, (profile) with two (2) cervical vertebrae. Skull measures 37" long and 21" tall, on chalk matrix, 54" x 27". Overall length of specimen is 45". Lower jaw measures 36 1/2". There are 31 teeth in the upper and lower jaws, including the pterygoids (throat teeth). Largest teeth are 1 1/2" long; most are in the 1" to 1 1/4" range. Skull has been prepared as discovered, in a ferocious, life-like position, and has substantial relief with matrix. Bone quality is excellent, with superb detail and color! Estimated length of this marine reptile (Mosasaur) would have been approximately 34-36 feet. Like a snake, these reptiles were able to drop their jaws and widen the opening in order to swallow oversized food. Active swimmers, they had a flattened tail and large, webbed paddles. The top of the head was covered with bony plates, while other areas of the body were covered with lizard-like scales.

This specimen is designed to be displayed as a wall mount with hanging hardware pre-installed on the back-side. A very dynamic decorator or exhibit specimen!
