Ptychodus mortoni Crusher Shark TeethPtychodus mortoni Crusher Shark Teeth Associated set of crusher shark teeth consisting of approximately 213 teeth from the upper and lower jaws. 102 teeth weathered out of the formation; the remaining 111 are still embedded in the natural chalk matrix. This number of teeth represents a substantial portion of the total tooth count. Largest tooth measures 18 mm. x 15 mm. x 18 mm. tall. The natural matrix (in plaster jacket) measures 26" x 20" x 4". These super rare remains of a primitive shark have been professionally air-abraded and are contained in the natural chalk matrix (in plaster collecting jacket), as discovered. None of the teeth have been repositioned or relocated. The lack of any post-cranial body parts may be explained by the discovery of two Squalicorax shark shed teeth in association with the specimen. As seen in some of the photos, several small groups of teeth are partially articulated. Also, a small patch of shark skin is preserved. There may be more skin and/or cranial elements underneath the teeth; however, this area will not be exposed until further preparation is completed. Ten (10) dry gallons of talus from the discovery site (most certainly containing some additional isolated teeth) are included with the purchase. Stock #4056
