Campo del CieloIron Meteorite (4.6 b.y.o.) This location was first discovered by Spanish explorers in 1572. Many tons of this meteorite are known. Very showy, with nice fusion crust! This meteorite maintained a partial orientation during its re-entry into the earth's atmosphere, causing a trench to form in the molten iron. This created a Super RARE "burn hole" that measures 4 mm. across. Highly unusual and desirable -- a true collector's meteorite! Stock #4119 |
