These extremely RARE remains from a Permian tree exhibit super detail, especially with magnification! Evidence of a possible seed pod, plus lots of color variation. Two repairs, but absolutely NO restoration!

"Chain fern" log section that has been cut and highly polished. Log is 6" tall and 2.5" in diameter. Circumference is 8.5". Glass-like polish on one end shows rings and cell structure. Shoot scars are large, numerous, and very well defined. Specimen is free-standing. Wonderful display fossil!

Beautiful slice of fossilized Palm tree trunk that has been highly polished on one side. Specimen measures 21" across, 28" tall and 1" thick. It is a complete cross-section of a large trunk, including the bark (rine). All of the interior workings of the tree are preserved in minute detail, including cell structure and the "pithy" vein structure. This specimen exhibits the unusual structure of a palm tree, which is very different from traditional fossilized wood. Specimen is strong and durable, suitable for a wall mount or a beautiful tabletop.

Large Poplar leaf with stem, 6 3/4" long and 3" wide, and smaller leaf, on matrix, 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 1" thick. Both leaves have great color contrast and detail with clearly visible venation. These fossil leaves were discovered on the edges of the prehistoric "Great Fossil Lake" that produced all the famous Wyoming fish fossils. Wonderful display and decorator fossil!
